We as conservatives stand against the socialized government controlled vaccine program that currently exists in the United States.

We want to privatize this institution. Americans should have the freedom to take responsibility for themselves, stop looking for hand outs, and shop the free market for a best H1N1 vaccine.

NO to publicly funded vaccines.

The purpose of any type of insurance is to protect against catastrophic loss. Using health insurance as an example, most everyday medical expenses are not very expensive (a physical exam averages $150.00+/-), but if you are admitted to the hospital for an emergency your medical bills would be in the tens of thousands of dollars at a minimum. If you do not have insurance you "self-insure" againts that potential catastrophic loss. Without insurance, the average person would face financial ruin if faced with a major loss.

Terri, thanks for the reply! :) You know, I worked out all the math, and it comes out to about 1 person dead just under 12 minutes. In the time that it took for you to reply to my comment (14 minutes), one person is dead because of this crisis in health care... just think about that. It's upsetting isn't it? How can anyone who leads this country sleep knowing that? It upsets me just as much as you.

Well, if she's 40 and perfectly healthy, it's going to cost her about $500 a month to have a low/no deductible plan that covers checkups.

You BUY it on a month to month basis. If you want low monthly payments, you have to cut the coverage - like take a $10,000 deductible. Or higher. That would cut payments down to maybe $200 a month or less.

The older she is, the less healthy she is, the more it costs.

Your best bet, is to find a local, independent agent, who can help you balance cost with coverage.

(continued) You know, I thought about something we can do. The latest data out there shows that 45,000 people die each year because of no health insurance. 45000/365 = 123 or so. If we get 123 people together and have them send one letter to the government EVERY DAY stating that someone has died due to lack of health insurance, then they will have to stop ignoring us. 1 Person could send 123 letters, but it would be better if 123 people sent 1 letter each every day.

I originally come from Great Britain where health care is free -well kinda - we pay a small percentage of our income to cover it.
You can walk into a doctors surgery or an Emergency room and not have to pay a penny!!!

No remortgaging our house, NO rip off insurance companys that try to get out of paying, NO small print where it states that your insurance doesnt cover this or that, NO premiums to pay - absolutely nothing to pay - apart from that small percentage that we pay through our income.

Every British citizen is entitiled to care no matter if they are working or not.

Perscriptions cost around 12 pounds ($24) no matter what you get.

We also have less people addicted to perscription drugs as our doctors do not make money from perscribing certain drugs to patients for example Oxycoten, xanax, lortab etc

Our preventative, emergency, Desease, Cancer, Terminal, Rehabilitation, general heathcare, maternal, Drug rehab, family planning(Birth control & STD etc) Care that we recieve is great.

If you have say a dicky knee and you need to see a specialist you may have to wait a little while - but that is for just minor things.

I lived in Oxford and we have one of the best hospitals in Europe the "John Radcliff Hospital" . And our hospital equipment is just as good as in the USA.

We also have less drug recalls than in the USA because we dont let the drug companys get away with what they do in the USA - which is kinda like human trials, or at least thats what it seems to me.

Dont let anyone in the USA tell you that so called "Socialist or Goverment controlled heath care is bad" Because it is not.

I believe that it IS the government duty to make sure its citizens are healthy and kept that way.

And I am really shocked that "Christian" America does not take the same view. Lots of people here in the USA take the view of "Well I am covered and my family is - so I dont really care about everyone else"
Doesnt sound very Christian to me. Jesus was poor - do you think he would have afforded Insurance?

If you have a common cold you can call a doctors office and be seen the same day!!!
And if you cut your hand off you would be seen as soon as the ambulance gets you to the Emergency room - A free ambulance by the way.

But I do believe that it will change here in the USA in the future - well hopefully anyway.

I am glad that if I get cancer or something as serious while living in the USA I can just go home to Britain and get taken care of for free - I am very lucky.

Hey There,

Im a claims adjuster in Florida and that sounds pretty good. 10k medpay will definately be a big help- but im hoping you have health insurance as well to fill in after that? 10k is very low if its your only coverage. however- in my opinion UM coverage is the most important coverage in the whole world.. i would consider more then a little increase in that.

Think about it this way.. you know how many stupid drivers there are in florida w/o insurance...TONS. if you have a high UM coverage.. you are protecting yourself. That way you will never be without someone to go after for the intangibles ("pain and suffering") etc. Medpay only covers actual medical expenses... it doesnt cover anything above that if you get a permenant injury. UM covers anything BI would... BI is that nice big stash of cash that lawyers love to go after for injuries... b/c it includes things up above medical expenses.

10k may seem like alot... but... man.. ive seen hits where someone just broke a foot or something... and they were up to 50k or so right there! UM can protect you from all this and put a little money in your pocket if the injury is permanent. Its a very selfish coverage haha... but sometimes you have to think about yourself and think about the worse case scenario you will be in.
