Over half the citizens of the United States are considered overweight. With this weight problem, over 12 million Americans are diagnosed with some form of Heart Disease each year. These are some pretty heartening facts, and they may scare some of you who read this, but there are several ways to fix the first problem, which will ultimately reduce the second. The main source of obesity is caused by the intake of too much Saturated fat, Trans Fat, and Cholesterol.
Diet: Doctors and Dietitians recommend lowering the amounts of “Bad” Fats and Cholesterol by changing your diet to consist mainly of low fat proteins, more fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and reducing your salt intake. Some examples of heart healthy foods are:
- Skim milk, soy products, cold water fish like salmon, and lean ground meats for low fat proteins.
- Fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits, low sodium canned veggies, and canned fruit in natural juice or water.
-
Whole wheat flour, whole grain breads, brown rice, and oatmeal as good sources of whole grains.
Of course the list above is only an abbreviated list, there are several others not listed. The most important thing to remember when choosing the right heart healthy foods is to read the label. Most food labels give you all the information you will need to make the right decision. We must also remember moderation in all things. Too much of any foods can cause weight gain.
Exercise: Experts now recommend that for good heart health, all adults accumulate at least 30 minutes or more of moderate-intensity aerobic exercises on most, preferably all, days of the week. This doesn’t mean, however, that you need to jog or swim 30 minutes a day. You also benefit from several shorter periods of physical activity throughout the day. If you don’t have the time or are not ready to go the full 30 minutes all at once, try starting out by walking for 10 minutes a few times a day. Walking is probably the easiest activity to accomplish, without a lot of thought, or equipment.
Heart healthy living doesn’t have to be difficult, and everybody will slip now and then. We just have to remember, if you replace the unhealthy foods with a more heart conscious diet, not only will your body start to show it, but your heart will thank you too.

This is dedicated to all people who work against cruelty to animals. …Beautiful animals enjoying life, the way it ought to be. We’re part of, but also separate from nature, so we need to observe and appreciate it, not interfere with it, not judge it, not exploit it. Abuse of animals is a terrible defect in the human race, which leads to self destruction, which needs to be overcome. Revere life and whatever created it.

molodoychelovek, more like something called laziness, fat consuming slobs. Americans don’t exercise and only consume junks, that’s the problem, not stress.
heart healthy living, is living with a good, clean, and healthy heart.. basically, its important because if your heart wasent healthy you would be at risk for many different deaseases or even death..
true story angie, true story.
Eat plenty of raw and preferably organic fruit and veggies.
Drink plenty of water.
Eat wholegrain breads, rices, pastas.
Eat lean meats and poultry for protein.
Eat and drink low fat or fat free dairy products only.
Reduce salt intake.
Avoid junk food as much as you possible can.
Reduce stress in your life and engage in some physical activity.the fact that you are so concerned about this possibility lends to my belief that you are an easily stressed individual(sorry), how about taking up a hobby such as yoga or meditating? Also every bit of physical activity helps, try to get out for walks etc more, the fresh air will also do wonders.
See your pharmacist about a good multivitamin or nutritional supplement.
Have your blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol tested regularly by your doctor or at a local clinic or pharmacy that offers such services.
Finally, don't stress about the genetic possibility that you may acquire heart disease, this is something that can easily be prevented by following a healthier lifestyle.
Because then it really hits them. That they aren't above everything. That they aren't the exception. They realize that they were always at risk and thinking it would never happen to them is stupid. It's a shock to them. They then realize if they continue down their current path, their life will end…sooner than it would have. Granted, there are some people that, even after being informed of their condition, they do not change, but I believe it really puts things into perspective when they are diagnosed.
its no fucking secret, those people just are not Coke guzzeling ciggarret smoking TV watching internet junkie coutch potatoes like the rest of the world. they are probably the most happiest people in the world.
i dont wanna live a long healthy life, its too stressfull to try and do it ahahaha. lololol
i don't think it's impossible, but you've already had 4 miscarriages. make sure that these unfortunate circumstances haven't damaged your heart, physically. i know they've hurt emotionally. talk to your doctor. i hope everything works out. you might want to think about adoption, and giving a great home to a child who needs you.
eat healthy and exercise daily for 30 mnts. use no oil just boiled food.
less air pollution
trader joes and whole foods would have more business
all soda companies would get less business
subway would prolly increase in sales.
etc
Simply, you're working out too much. You're young so you'll get away with it probably for several years. But eventually it'll catch up with you.
Studies have shown that the body needs rest in order to recuperate. You should have about 2 days of rest a week and it is better if it is not consecutive. There seems to be some evidence that folks who work out as much as you for years and years seem to suffer more heart disease and cancer.
Your diet seems okay. My only suggestion would be to try a couple of complete vegetarian days a week too. You don't need meat everyday.
Hope this helps,
Jack
what i ment was its stressfull to maintain a healthy life, being healthy is just another “to do” which creates anxiety, thats how my mind views it
Whatever Americans eat they can not live that long. Because there is something called stress here in US.
If you’re healthier, rested and exercise, life is less stressful. But, I agree that the world is not always a stress-free place. Being healthy helps you deal with it better.
Oh yes, I agree. Just take it a step at a time. Make little changes then work up to bigger ones.
When you’re healthy, you don’t feel so much stress. When you’re rested and healthy, you can deal with all of it better. Plus, if you believe in God, He imparts strength to deal with stress.
